Patient experiences of gout

Dr Jane Richardson, Senior Lecturer in Health Services Research, was interviewed on BBC Radio Stoke's breakfast show last week in response to a new report from Arthritis Care showing that one in 40 people now suffer from gout.
Dr Richardson, Jennifer Liddle and colleagues have carried out research on patient experiences of gout for the award-winning website www.healthtalk.org – visited by over three million patients, carers and health professionals every year.

They have presented different aspects of the findings at health and social science conferences recently, including a prize-winning poster at the National Institute for Health Research School for Primary Care Research's 'Promoting Excellence and Impact' Showcase.
